Necrotech Map Tiles

Design your own ancient science fiction adventure maps with the Necrotech Map Tiles package of art assets. Build adventure maps for popular Sci-Fi roleplaying systems such as Wrath & Glory, or the Starfinder Roleplaying Game.

Import the art assets – block by block – into a graphics editing program such as Photoshop or Gimp to create your adventure map, then export the completed map to your favourite virtual tabletop roleplaying platform, such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, or Fantasy Grounds.

What is a Map Tile?

A map tile is an artistic asset that represents a 5-foot square section of terrain from a top-down perspective. These tiles can be used to design roleplaying adventure maps for game systems like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, Shadowrun, GURPS, or any other system that utilizes a 5-foot square grid for mapping.

Each map tile blends photographic source material with hand-drawn artwork, creating a distinct visual style. The assets are rendered at a 3:1 scale — meaning three on-screen pixels per real-world inch — resulting in a map grid square of 180 pixels. This scale ensures a high level of detail in adventure maps while maintaining performance for users with older computers or slower internet connections.

The same 3:1 scale is applied to our virtual table top tokens, allowing character tokens to align seamlessly with adventure maps created using our map tiles. This also means that our Props and Objects Token packs can be used to furnish settings — such as an Alien Necrotech Facility — without any scaling issues.

This package of art assets has a dark ancient technology theme for creating long lost alien facilities for players to explore. Contained within this package you will find the following art assets:

• Necrotech Floor Tiles – Contains 63 floor tiles art assets. 37x 1×1 tiles, 8x 1×2 tiles, 2x 1×3 tiles, 8x 2×1 tiles, 2x 3×1 tiles, 6x 2×2 tiles.
  • Etched Floor Tiles – Contains 20 etched 1×1 floor tiles art assets.
  • Spiral Staircase – 5ft – Contains 8 spiral staircase tiles for building a 5ft radius staircase.
  • Spiral Staircase – 10ft – Contains 8 spiral staircase tiles for building a 10ft radius staircase.
  • Steps – Contains 192 stepped tiles for building a variety of staircases or stepped platforms.
• Necrotech Wall Tiles – Contains 120 wall art elements. The walls are broken up into north, south, east, and west facing elements, with the following each: 3x wall corners, 8x 1×1 flat surface walls, 11x etched surface walls, 8x dissolving into blocks walls.
  • 5ft Curved Walls – Contains 16 art assets for building 5ft radius walls.
  • 10ft Curved Walls – Contains 16 art assets for building 10ft radius walls.
  • Cornerstones and Doorways – Contains 40 art assets. Each wall corner (eg: North-east) includes 5 different art styles. Plus each facing (eg: north) includes a doorway pair tile in 5 styles.
  • Deadends and Passageways – Contains 40 art assets. Each direction (eg: north) includes 2 deadend tiles, Each passageway direction (eg: north-south) includes 16 art assets.
  • Diagonal Walls – Contains 56 art assets for building diagonal wall sections.
  • Floating Blocks – Contains 10 overlay elements for adding floating block elements to an adventure map.
