Map Tiles Sample Pack

The Map Tiles Sample Pack was created to give people a chance to try out building adventure maps with art assets from Studio WyldFurr, before investing in one of the larger Map Tiles packages from the range of art assets produced by Studio WyldFurr.

The sample pack includes a limited range of art assets compared to our other map tiles packs. The pack was designed around a Pink Marble theme with a collection of pink marble floor tiles, which also include a set of feature tiles that have a blue marble stripe pattern.

Combined with the floor tiles are overlay tiles for the pink marble wall texture, which also includes a Window overlay and door assets. Together these assets can be employed by Game Masters to create a wide variety of buildings for their players to explore.

The real advantage of these map tiles is in the granular nature of map design when intermixed with other different themed map tiles sets.

Map Tiles Scale

Each map tile is designed to fit a map grid of 180 pixels square. We use this size for virtual tabletop maps as it provides a map where the artwork is quite detailed without being overly large and cumbersome. Image maps which are saved out as a JPG result in an image size that is not too large in megabytes, as large megabyte size images can create system lag on some virtual tabletop applications. But most importantly using 180 pixels square means that we can use a scale of 3 pixels to each real-world inch in order to scale artwork and objects on the map.

Fantasy Grounds Unity Art Asset Module

A new feature we have started working on is a version of our Map Tiles packs that has been set up to take advantage of the map building features inside Fantasy Grounds Unity. The Map Tiles Sample Pack includes a copy of itself as a Fantasy Grounds Unity Art Asset Module. With the module installed in Fantasy Grounds Unity, you can use the map tiles as adventure map building assets inside Fantasy Grounds.

We have created a number of small example maps with the Map Tiles Sample Pack, so you can see the posibilities.

Purchase Options

This package of art assets can be purchased in two forms. The first is the Raw Image Files Art Assets Edition, while the second is a version of the package that has been configured especially for certain Virtual Tabletop Applications. This second form of the package can only be purchased via the Marketplace belonging to that Application (see below).

Raw Image Files Art Assets Edition

This edition of the Map Tiles Sample Pack is designed for use by advanced users who have access to graphics editing programs and apps such as Photoshop, Gimp, Krita, or Clip Studio. The package contains a wealth of raw image files in JPG and PNG file format. These image files form the building blocks which you can assemble into the form of a dungeon, fortress, or whatever kind of structure you desire.

We have a collection of tutorials detailing how you can use the Map Tiles in various different programs, click here to view our tutorials list.
