How to install Moulinette into FoundryVTT

As a reward for your support of Studio WyldFurr via Patreon, you can gain access to our library of virtual tabletop token packs, map tiles art asset packs, and adventure modules via the Moulinette plugin for Foundryvtt. The Moulinette plugin gives you access to assets within the FoundryVTT application, giving you the ability to load adventure modules into your game worlds, create new actors from placed token art, assign new token art to existing actors, or even build adventure maps from scratch with map tiles.

This tutorial aims to help you learn how to install and activate Moulinette in order to utilize the extra added functionality for use in your own games.

Adding Moulinette to FoundryVTT

The first part of this tutorial covers installing and activating the Moulinette plugin modules. If you already have Moulinette installed, you might want to skip down to Accessing the Token Packs via Moulinette.

Install the Moulinette Modules

The first thing you need to do is install the Moulinette plugin modules for FoundryVTT. To do this, open the FoundryVTT Configuration & Setup panel and click on the Add-on Modules section to view it’s options.

Click on the Install Module button located at the bottom of the Add-on Modules section, this will open a new panel where you can search through the models that can be installed into FoundryVTT.

Type “Moulinette” into the Filter Packages search box to find all of the Moulinette modules. Install the following modules:

  • Moulinette Core
  • Moulinette Tiles
  • Moulinette Sounds and Soundpad
  • Moulinette Scenes
  • Moulinette Game Icons
  • Moulinette Image Search

Activate Moulinette

Now that you have installed the plugin modules, you need to activate Moulinette in your game world. Do so by loading your game world, then click on the Game Settings icon from the top right selection of icons, then click on the Manage Modules button.

In the Module Management panel that appears, tick each box for each of the Moulinette modules. Then click the Save Module Settings button, FoundryVTT may request to restart in order to let the changes take effect, just click yes and let FoundryVTT reload.

Now that the plugin modules are active, you will need to sign into your Patreon account in order to give the Moulinette modules the authority to sync your Patreon rewards. Do this by clicking on the Moulinette icon to display the Moulinette functions in the left-hand side menu.

In the buttons that appear in the second row, click on the button with the Patreon logo to display the Moulinette intergration with Patreon panel. In the Moulinette intergration with Patreon panel click on the Authenticate on Patreon button. Doing so will open a web browser window where you will be asked to give Moulinette permission to read your Patreon subscription information.

Once you have given Moulinette permission to read your Patreon subscription information, the Moulinette plugin modules will now be active and able to synchronize your Patreon rewards! You can now begin to access Studio WyldFurr packages via Moulinette’s toolset inside FoundryVTT!
